As creches, em sua maioria, adaptam o espaço escolar para a altura das crianças. Vasos sanitários, pias, estantes e corrimãos estão sempre ao alcance dos pequenos para estimular a sua autonomia. Não seria interessante fazer o mesmo com o ambiente da criança em casa? Essa é a ideia do quarto chamado de montessoriano. Ele é organizado de acordo com o que prega o método montessori, metodologia de ensino criada pela educadora italiana Maria Montessori por volta de 1907.
O objetivo é deixar o ambiente mais fácil para os bebês. O que isso quer dizer? Como o método prioriza a autoeducação, o quarto deve oferecer elementos posicionados na altura da criança e que estimulem o desenvolvimento e a autonomia de forma segura para que ela se sinta à vontade para explorar o espaço.
No lugar das camas altas, entram colchões no chão. Esta forma proporciona maior liberdade para os pequenos, que podem deitar e levantar quando quiserem. Os brinquedos devem estar dispostos de forma que a criança possa pegá-los à vontade. A intenção é despertar o interesse e não gerar monotonia.
Seguem abaixo alguns elementos fundamentais na composição do ambiente montessoriano:
Espelho – Para que a criança possa se reconhecer. Ele deve ser colado em uma placa de MDF ou madeira e preso à parede.
Tapete – Proporciona experiências sensoriais para os bebês e delimita o espaço de brincadeiras para os maiores.
Armário baixo – Armazene neste espaço poucas opções de roupas para que a criança possa escolher com facilidade. Os brinquedos também podem ser expostos na estante ou no armário estimulando a autonomia.
Em um ambiente com elementos ao alcance da criança, a principal preocupação dos pais é com a segurança. Um alerta para as precauções que devem ser tomadas:
- Evite móveis ou outros elementos com quinas.
- Não use quadros com vidros. Prefira acrílico.
- Fixe os objetos na parede com fita dupla face. Evite o uso de pregos.
- Tome cuidado com móveis instáveis que possam tombar.
- Esconda e proteja as tomadas.
